Welcome to Hope Lea

More than a day centre – it’s a community.

Every weekday, adults with mild to medium learning disabilities come together at Hope Lea to enjoy activities, learn new skills and spend time with friends. Many have been coming for 20 or 30 years, and the friendships they’ve built are at the heart of everything we do.

For many of the people we support, Hope Lea is the one place they go outside of home – somewhere they’re known, welcome and part of something.

Something to look forward to, every day

Our days are relaxed and friendly, with plenty to get stuck into – and always the choice to simply enjoy a cuppa and a chat.

Baking & cooking

Rolling up sleeves in our kitchen to bake, decorate and taste-test. The results are usually delicious.

Arts & crafts

Painting, window art, making things for our events – creativity is all around the centre.

Card making

Handmade cards for birthdays and celebrations, made with care and a lot of glitter.

Games & music quizzes

Friendly competition, favourite songs and lots of laughter, whatever the weather.

Seated exercise

Regular visits from Rise, who lead gentle seated exercise sessions to keep everyone moving.

Learning with West Notts College

Tutors from West Notts College teach a variety of subjects – and everyone earns a certificate at the end.
